we help you heal using your body!
We use a combination of Dance/Movement Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Somatic Experiencing to help Black women resolve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma.
Our BODYFUL approach has proven to be effective with more than 85% of the Black women who choose to work with us for 6-12 months.
Reading books about trauma, baking up a storm, pole dancing, and playing my alto sax.
The body is our greatest resource for healing, all bodies deserve affirming care, and healing takes time (and lots of practice).
I'm Jennifer Sterling, a registered dance/movement psychotherapist and holistic nutritionist. I have additional training in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Cognitive Processing for Trauma.
If you're anything like me, you identify (or have identified) as a Strong Black Woman. Since there's so much repression of emotion that comes along with that stereotype, you might (like me) also live with depression.
If so, you're in the right place!
I created Bodyful Healing to support you in feeling more vital, well, and whole.
