About The BodyFul Healing Project

I'm a Registered Dance/Movement Psychotherapist and Holistic Nutritionist. I created The BodyFul Healing Project because as a black woman living with depression, I often felt alone and misunderstood. I also watched many of the women in my family struggle with mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and dissociative identity disorder (to name a few).

They struggled because “black people don’t get depressed,” and “you don’t put all your business in the street”." So they never got help outside of the church or saw a therapist.

I love learning (and debt, apparently) and have an M.S in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University and an M.S in Dance/Movement Psychotherapy from Sarah Lawrence College.  I am registered through the American Dance Therapy Association as a Dance/Movement Therapist and am Licensed as a Creative Arts Therapy in the State of New York with a limited permit.

And thanks to my mama and a diploma from The International Culinary Center in New York CIty, I can also throw down in the kitchen!
