It’s the latest buzzword in wellness.

Everyone in my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook timelines is talking about it - the ways in which it affects housing, employment, and our interactions with authority.

But very few people are talking about how oppression affects the body.

So I decided to do something about that!

“Oppression and the Body.”

I’ve spent 5+ years researching the oppression and its effect on the bodies of black women.

My own health concerns are what motivated this research — depression, migraines, chronic digestive issues.

But no one ever told me that there were issues at play outside of my own actions, or that those actions were often guided by bigger systemic issues.

So I want want to share this information with you.

I’m also a Registered Dance/Movement Psychotherapist and Holistic Nutritionist. These are issues that I help my clients and patients navigate through each and every day.

How This Works:

You sign up for one or more courses. Each course is $25.

You receive a confirmation email with the class details — meeting date, meeting time, connection link.

The day of the event and an hour before you’ll receive reminder emails, so you can attend the event live.

A recording of the call will be sent your email 24 hours after the call for you to view again or watch for the first time, if you missed the live call.

I'll help you understand exactly how living in an oppressed and marginalized body contributes to mental illnesses, like depression, and well as the role they play in emotional and disordered eating.

What You Learn:

We'll discuss how the body informs the development of our identity and how this works when your body isn't one that is accepted in societal norms.

What You Learn:

I'll share ways that we can move toward becoming more connected to our bodies while living in a world that doesn't always seem safe for marginalized and oppressed bodies.
